I lost two memory sticks, each 2GB in size, and the data stored on them was incredibly important to me. After misplacing the second one, and considering my tendency to forget things,
I made a hasty decision: I wouldn’t buy a new one. It was an impulsive choice, and deep down, I knew it was wrong and that I needed to make a change.
One day, while browsing through a Panchang (the Saka Hindu or Indian national calendar, which often includes various traditional texts), I came across a verse that claimed to help recover lost possessions.
According to the verse, if you lose something precious, chanting it in the morning and evening would eventually bring back the lost item in some form, within a few months. I smiled skeptically and brushed it off.
However, as I continued with my morning prayers, I found myself searching for the verse, and soon it became a regular habit to chant it 10 to 12 times each day. For two months, nothing happened.
Then, one day, as I was cleaning my car and thinking about buying a new memory stick, I discovered one of the lost drives.
To my surprise, it belonged to my brother, who had also lost it over a month ago and had since replaced it with a new one. He wasn’t around at the time, so I was able to use it without breaking my vow not to buy a new one.
Not only did I recover my need for the drive, but the experience also strengthened my belief in the power of the verse. It was as if my faith had been reaffirmed in a way that felt almost miraculous.
The verse goes like this:
ॐ कर्ताविरर्जुनो नमः
राजा बहसुसरवन |
तस्य स्मरणं मातृना
गतम् नशतम च लभ्यटे ||
