Recently I watched some movie in which future sky was shown quite occupied by traffic. I was not sure that this future is so nearing us. The Terrafugia prototype Transition® called a road-able aircraft and not a flying car because is not designed to replace any automobile and it is flown by licensed pilots. It is powered by a certified aircraft engine that runs on unleaded automotive gasoline.
Once on the ground, with the wings folded the vehicle can be driven on any road. The vehicle runs off unleaded fuel for both terrestrial and aerial travel, cruising at highway speeds on land and better than 115 miles per hour in the air. The Perfect for trips between 100 and 500 miles.
First customer delivery is anticipated to be in 2011. Refundable airframe reservations are currently being accepted to hold a place in production. You can also place your order by depositing $10,000
