Being into blogging I find it very exciting to hunt daily for new ideas. On the same time it is quite challenging to envisage on something fresh and innovative. Generally I don’t know what, where and how to start. Today I am going to reveal you my secret of kick starting my things…
How I mange to break this threshold time and again.. ;-).
The answer is brainstorming
I have found that brainstorming technique plays a vital role in planning a new venture, boosting your creativity & innovation, It is good for planning, decision-making. It is highly creative process as it not only generates new ideas, but also solves problems.
It helps me developing team spirit and is my biggest motivators. During the random collection of ideas I keep on recording most of the suggestions on a note book after my brainstorming sessions. The method also generates lots of possibilities which you might otherwise miss otherwise.
During brainstorming I encourage fellow mates to put forward their honest opinion at random. The process is quite tricky when it comes to manage other’s involvement and sensitivities, because you have to support each one to participate, and to dismiss nothing.
Generally people don’t participate if their suggestions are criticized. Meanwhile you have to keep them in track so as to prevent them from ridiculing. This is quite crucial as this all needs to involve team building skill, which means that everyone must receive my honest opinion.
Though brainstorming with others is interesting and less tiring process but for this you have to identify the experts and seek for their time and company, this makes it a highly dependent course of action on others. You are not sure whether you’ll be able to find them, to address this I have practiced an alternative and I call it self brainstorming.
Self brainstorming
It is done just by yourself and is very useful to initiate any new project, especially if you are addicted to postpone your schedules. It is generally much easier if you begin simply scribble your ideas on a a notebook.
The notes taking generally is wonderful particularly with differently colored inks, by quickly switching colors between red, blue, black and green.
Using different colors enables you to identify and link common items within a random list, or to show patterns and categories, or to over-write notes without making a confusing mess.
Generally to generate far more value from your thoughts and ideas. Keeping connected notes and ideas on a single sheet of paper greatly helps the brain to absorb and develop them.
Try it – you’ll be surprised how much more useful your notes become. Using different colors in your creative scrawling records helps you to make your notes and diagrams clearer, and considerably increases the ways in which you can develop and refine your ideas.
Develop and prioritize ideas
At the end of the time limit or when ideas have been exhausted, use different colored pens to categorize, group, connect and link the random ideas by underlining or circle the words.
Condense and refine the ideas by making new headings or lists. You can combine the weaker ideas within other themes to avoid dismissing or rejecting contributions.
Develop and prioritize the ideas into a more finished list or set of actions or options. Your plain pen is therefore a brilliant tool for organizing your thoughts on paper much more clearly and creatively than by being limited to a single color especially if you think in visual terms and find diagrams helpful.
Ohh, so is that how you find new ideas? I wouldn’t be able to brainstorm so much stuff out of my brain ahah, yours must have a lot of experience and valuable information! 😀 Thanks for sharing, I also like taking notes hehe.
