I am grateful to the internet because of which I can have the glimpse of any place I can think of. The Internet has made things so different and amazing. Prior to actually going to the place you can virtually visit any place in the world.
A Nordic rendezvous: Discovering the magic of Norway where the unexpected becomes unforgettable
Before writing my views about my dream destination I really want to thank Lufthansa to trigger the thought of thinking about my dream destination. Its because it reminded of so many thoughts and childhood dreams which were sleeping somewhere in the hustle bustle of life with kids and family and work.
My #SayYesToTheWorld moment reminded me of that hidden child within me who was seeking little attention from me to reconsider his adventurous dreams since childhood. Whenever I get time I explore new places through vlogs by different people on the internet. I have heard about and virtually visited many countries and places which are beautiful and you would love to go there but there are some places which you feel connected to your life though you have not actually visited yet.
While exploring Norway I just felt a connection and compiled #TheBlindList for me. This is a place where my soul belongs, here I can fulfill most of my bucket list. I love hills, Fjord and lakes. I can’t think of staying in hot places. I love snow. I have a specific list of things which I am desperate to do and explore. The atmosphere and geography of this place are just close to my dreamland.
Norway ranks pretty high up my list of favorite destinations. The history, food, and architecture or Norway is amazing and world class. There is so much adventure you can explore in mountains, glaciers and deep coastal fjords of Norway. You can also enjoy fishing, hiking, and skiing etc.
It is one of the most developed democracies & states of justice in the world. It is considered one of the best place for Human Development. It is one of the happiest places and has the lowest crime rates in the world. The Peace Prize Selection Committee from Norway selects a Peace Prize winner every year. Norwegians have a great interest in reading books. They spend good money on publishing and buying books.
Norway’s capital Oslo is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Bergen is the 2nd largest city the gateway to the fjords of West Norway. Being the oldest major cities, Trondheim has very rich heritage. It’s located on the shore with amazing scenic beauty and is most exciting locations due to nightlife, music, art & culture.
Islands Lakes & Waterfalls
Lofoten is one of the most beautiful, impressive and best places for hiking, climbing, kayaking, skiing, surfing, cycling & fishing in Norway. Mjøsa is Norway’s largest lake, as well as one of the deepest lakes in Norway and in Europe.
Seeing hundreds of thousands of liters of water cascading down a cliff can be a strangely fascinating and humbling experience. Some of the world’s tallest waterfalls are found in Norway.Nine of the 20 highest waterfalls in the world are in Norway and many of these cascade down the mountainsides of Fjord Norway.
Fjord Cruises & Safaris
There are many fjords i.e. deep, narrow & extended sea or lake drain, with steep land on three sides with breathtaking views in Norway. Fjord cruises & safaris are a great way to relax and sightseeing. Norway is the best place for boat trips with beautiful fjords, harbors, waterfalls and much more on the way to be explored.
Hiking
I love to travel on foot to explore a new place. Hiking is my all time favourite activity. Hiking in Norway is synonymous with breathtaking & spectacular sight seeing. For hikers Norway is perfect itinerary.
This place is having varied options tracks to suit all levels of fitness & experiences. National parks in Norway are free and open to the public all year for hiking and other activities.
Hikers can avail numerous convenient and affordable wooden cabins to luxury grand hotels all over the country. These hikes will take you past fjords, behind waterfalls, up mountains, to leave you deep in love with Norway.
Sailing
For the people like me who live in hill stations sailing is like a dream. I’d love to have sailing experience in the fjords of Norway. The sailing season in Norway is pretty short, just 6-8 weeks in June and July,
Sailing destinations stretch along the full length of the Norwegian coast. Having the second longest coast in the world, offshore islands and fjords extending deep into the mountains Norway provides great options for sailing. choose a kayaking trip to go closest to nature.
Sea Diving & Swimming
Norway is one of the top Dive sites. It offers a wide variety of opportunities for different levels of divers. Including its islands, Norway has a vast coastline of 58,133 km with optimal temperature of water. In summer the sun never sets and you might see the Northern Lights in winters.
One can have the experience to dive with leopard seals, penguins and whales. The Lofoten Islands has amazing wall dives. I’d love to give me the opportunity to experience a dip in the sea in the summer season. Beautiful beaches of Norway attracts thousands of visitors every year. There are around three months in the year when the water at Norway’s beaches is warm enough for swimming.
Sky Diving
Though skydiving seems to be the scariest thing for me, but I think if so many other people can do it why can’t I try! I do remember being a kid, when I used play with friends pretending ourselves to be flying airplanes by making lot of noise with arms spread out.
Skiing
Being out on the ski slopes is the Norway is considered a skiing paradise by many, and not just because of the long season or the great snow conditions. It would be awesome to have the skiing experience in the mountains of Norway with solitude & beauty would be the best option for this great experience.
In Norway’s ski resorts, the season is long, the conditions are good, and the slopes are so well prepared that you can have fun and feel safe no matter how old you are. Imagine myself skiing down a hillside for the first time. What an adventure! It was. The feeling is something one treasures for life.
Aurora borealis
The country is also home to the natural phenomena of the Midnight sun (during summer), as well as the Aurora borealis known also as the Northern lights. Every traveler’s bucket list should include viewing these lights, one of the most naturally spectacular phenomena that have the power of taking your breath away.
This natural light display in the sky, and Norway with its open spaces and little light pollution is one of the best places to try to see the most impressive lights show. So try to discern the Northern Lights!
Walks in the National Park
Norway has gorgeous landscapes and they are quite towards their conservation. These national parks have a number of spectacular wildlife and natural wonders to allure and bewitch the visitors.
Spotting the wildlife and amazing scenery is not only the attraction of the parks but you can enjoy a lot more things such as cycling, kayaking, skiing, hiking etc. You can relax in camps in the parks after having fun during all the activities. One can say that Norway is a huge National Park. There are more than 45 national parks in Norway.
Horse Rides
Being second least densely populated country in Europe Norway is an ideal destination for a horse riding holiday experience. Horse riding is a popular activity Norway, in part because of the varied natural landscape.
You can hire expert guides ready to give you an unforgettable experience of horse riding in the breathtaking fjords and varied natural landscape in Norway’s stunning mountains.
My bucket list is not about visiting any particular place but to experience and expand my capabilities and imagination. It is about encountering all the fears and doubts in life.
