Being in this world…

Hyperactive Media

From last couple of days I had been following in the latest controversy where Indian Blogosphere is up in arms against New Delhi Television Ltd.

whose very existence depends on the right to free speech, Barkha Dutt an eminent Indian TV journalist and Group Editor-English News, NDTV winner of Global Leader of Tomorrow Award twice by the World Economic Forum and a Netherlands-based Indian Blogger Chyetanya Kunte who was forced to withdraw his so called offensive post.

Hyperactive Media

While going through various posts regarding the issue from eminent bloggers, journalists and lawyers I was not able to conclude anything. Though I am not in a position to favor any side but surely no one will achieve anything by getting some blogger or news channel shut down.

One will agree about the role of channels as security breaches if any one has watched the  Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah starrer movie ‘A Wednesday’.

The aroused clash might be due to the earned ego levels and frustrations which are rising higher with the escalating stature as a celebrity rather than a journalist.

Instead of the retrospection on how to improve and to perform the root cause analysis we are playing a dirty sport spoiler games. I believe Blogs have a different flair and dynamics.

Mainstream Journalism

They can never replace mainstream journalism but one alert is worth remembering that technology has provided wings to the Information. So the bottom-line remains In Blogging (bloggers who merely are expressing their opinion) as well as in journalism (journalists who are reporting the accurate news).

We have to be accountable. It’s a nice idea posted by some bloggers to organize a debate in some future episodes of Ms. Dutt’s show on this much hyped issue to be aired on NDTV.
