A Personal Story of Rejection, Reinvention, and the Courage to Pursue a Passion-Fueled Career.
This December, my wife and I celebrate a beautiful milestone — 10 years on the path of independent professional growth. Reflecting on this journey, my heart is filled with deep gratitude.
I grew up in a time when grades, stable jobs, and conventional career paths measured success. Like many others, I followed this well-worn route, believing that security was the ultimate goal.
But looking back now, I see something far deeper in my career — a fighting spirit that guided me, even when the path ahead was unclear. I was often pulled in different directions, chasing trends and opportunities, uncertain where they would lead.
In the first 15 years of my career, I wore many hats. I began with private tutoring, then moved on to teaching computer science at various institutes. While working in these roles, I continually sought to enhance my qualifications and skills.
I ventured into corporate sales, only to — quickly realize, it wasn’t the right fit. I returned to coaching, but when that didn’t scale as I had hoped, I found myself — back in sales — only to face rejection ‘once’ again.
It was in that moment of rejection that a new opportunity in programming emerged, which I soon realized was my true calling. That chapter lasted eight years and proved to be incredibly rewarding. But as life often does, it led me in an unexpected direction — toward independent consulting and self-employment, particularly in UI/UX design.
The decision to take that leap came after the birth of our triplet daughters. It was a tremendous leap of faith, but I trusted my instincts and embraced the challenge, knowing I was ready to invest whatever it took for this bold experiment. There were many rough patches, but somehow, we kept moving, step by step.
Throughout this journey, I have been blessed with incredible backing. My wife has been my rock, offering unwavering support. My parents and brother have helped me stay grounded.
I’ve met countless others along the way, who have shared wisdom that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Each relationship, and each experience, has contributed to shaping the person I am today.
As I enter the fifth decade of my life, I stand with quiet confidence. I feel more connected to my purpose than ever before. It’s as though all the years of searching, learning, and growing have led me to this very moment.
. . .
I am filled with excitement and hope for what lies ahead. I truly believe the best is yet to come. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but every step has been worth it. The road has been long, but it has led me to a place of deep fulfilment — and for that, I am eternally grateful.
