RHR #1
To initiate the series of RHR, my first act of Random Human Revolution which I did this week was I tried to comprehend the point of view of ones with whom I spend my time. Believe me it was a wonderful experience.
BE A GOOD LISTENER
The time I spent with my mates was a cool learn able experience. With due respect to all of them I express here my gratitude for all what I have learned from the environment.
In the modern maimed and turmoiled world, everybody pretends to be a teacher, a preacher; and never a learner, never a listner. Listening to our existence, listening to birds, plants, flowers- there are infinite saga of things of this existence. Listening to a beggar on the street, listening to an entitiless faceless common guy on the street, listening to the sinners, criminals – these are the wonderful sermons ever we can listen to so that we can enrich our life, understand the other side of the life. By listening we open up; by sticking to our own orchestrated rhetoric we literally shut the door on ourselves.
Excellent comment sulochanosho. I would like to add a couple of popular quotes on this topic:
” If we were supposed to talk more than we listen, we would have two mouths and one ear” – Mark Twain
“A good listener is not only popular everywhere, but after a while he knows something” – Anonymous.
Destination Infinity.
Sulochan,
Also it is very difficult to listen to oneself and even if one makes an attempt to listen, what is listened is the voice of others echoing in oneself rather than the own voice which is made very feeble by our culture and value systems. Education is the main culprit for making us second handed individuals.
It is not so easy to bark with full throat and with the sound coming from the guts.
Thank u destinationinfinity, there may not be any better quotes to fit the point here!
Yes Madhu, we are so perverted and converted thanks to our grand heritage of religions, sermons, policing knowledge base and ready-made pumped in experiences and wisdom that we even can not listen even to our own self.
