Being in this world…

Do you loose your faith?

by | Feb 12, 2008 | Productivity

When my young nephew daily stares me doing my morning prayer rituals I perceive from his eyes that come-on grow up now you are not that small to have an imaginary friend.

Let me take this opportunity to speak my mind that somewhere at times, I lose faith. I lose faith in humanity. I lose faith in wisdom and Goodness. I lose faith in God.

In order to attain a perspective of where you are in the universe right now I love thinking the exploration of cosmos, I just try watching the “zoom out” visualizations with in my head.

Once you get beyond our current galaxy, you tend to disappear. You’re lost in a very deep silent world. A world of planets, mass objects obeying the laws of the universe. No emotion. No human feeling. No love. And quite possibly even no God.

As you keep going deeper, further away billions of light years from earth, where huge bunch of galaxies together seem like twisting strings, where size, as humans can comprehend has no meaning.

When you are there watching the crazy things that humans do, on their tiny little planet. When you’re out there in the silence, in the non-human world, devoid of contact, devoid of true life. You just might lose faith. Where is the God in this? Are we really as “special” as we think? Or could we be a mere accident of the universe, without any significant meaning.

Let’s consider, just for a moment, that God does not exist. That we, as humans, are just a rather splendid coincidence. And that, when we die, we just end up in dust. Soon to be blown away and forgotten. Does that make a difference to your life? For many people, the answer is ‘Yes’.

But here’s the crazy thing. The more you consider that as an option, the more you realize the importance of living now. Even if – God forbid! – There’s absolutely no supreme, and we’re literally alone as coincidental beings in this universe… Doesn’t that make it even more important to truly live your life to the full? To truly let go of your self-consciousness, and begin living this life with an enthusiasm?

To stop procrastinate, as you have been, and to instead start enjoying your time here on earth and to begin living your life as your own supreme through your own rules and standards.

You see, after all that thinking maybe the only real meaning to life. Do you also loose your faith?

God or no God. I don’t know. But at least we may remain
    good with or without God.

…”to begin living your life as your own supreme through your own rules and standards….”

To live life as your own supreme through your own rules and standards…let’s consider this very, very carefully. Historically speaking, what happened when a race or a nation considered themselves as ‘supreme’ over others? Let’s name a few…The Nazis, Pol Pot, Rwandan genocide of 1994, and yes, even India’s Caste System.

It’s all nice and danty to be in an idealistic world of dreams, but the reality of the matter still stands.

Life contains a very strong contrast of good and evil. We see this very clearly within both nature and ourselves; and we are probably worst since we have some understandings of it but refused to use it to better ourselves.

Sorry to spoil your dreams, but something is out there beyond our understanding…and to deny its existence is worst then being blind or having no senses at all. Keep dreaming and pondering though, for a true awakeing can only come to those who keeps banging at the door of truth.
