There are infinitely many things to explore, however unfortunately we only have finite time and energy. Information processing in our brain is more efficient when the subjective possibilities are closer to the objective opportunities. In particular, a mind with stored data about the natural environment is in general more efficient than a completely unbiased mind, where all subjective probabilities are to be learned from scratch.
Metabolically the brain is a very expensive organ. Representing only 2 percent of body mass, the brain uses about 20 percent of energy in humans. Our mind is capable of creating ideas at a blink of eye, which gives us impression that thinking is effortless. This seeming effortless, however, is the result of highly active brain system that consumes large amount of energy.
One of the reason which hinders our creativity is procrastination and cynicism. It results due to the very limited or no information about the subject matter you initiate contemplating on its sudden encounter. It is awesome to read self help books because it helps in building and polishing your belief systems. Since mental activities are so costly, it is of great evolutionary advantage to have efficient information processing system to reduce the cost of thinking. I love to be traditional though it might be characterized as behaviour of reluctance to update my old beliefs on the face of new information.
Another factor describing distorted information is well explained in the information theory of communication which states that the original information gets diluted. The information one can receive is information sent minus losses which occur due to the indirectness of source and the receiver, which is reduced gradually in further transmitting of information due to transmitter’s limited background knowledge about the particular topic.
Most often we see people emulating their ideals; this is because a random action generally costs more than it gains. To concentrate on profitable actions we try emulating others, like wild animals we often learn from the experience of successful individuals and copy their behaviour. We accept certain modes of behaviour demonstrated by others without completely investigating the reasons behind them. The choice of subject to learn is from past experience. For example, when in any profession people are highly paid; most people likely opt for the same profession area.
In our belief system it is impossible to skip the discussion on ‘GOD’. There are many arguments against the existence of God with the idea that God is a human creation. These suggest that once we are aware that the concept of God is our own creation we will unsubscribe this concept. The prevalence of irrationality is reflected in the prevalence of religious beliefs in various forms. A fundamental characteristic of various religions is that they are built on some miracles that are not consistent with physical or biological laws.
Carl Marx once stated that religion is the sigh of the exhausted creature, the heart of a heartless world and the soul of the soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people. As per this hypothesis the religion must be ignored as it is attributed to illusory happiness and instead one should call for the true happiness. On the same time Marx also explained this call to abandon illusions is in fact the call to abandon a condition that requires illusions.
Creativity demands composed mind set and in order to achieve it, you need to fine tune yourself as per outside world.
