Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference, and that is so profoundly true in everyday life. The way we see life will effect every action that we plan out, and therefore affect the outcome of our lives in the long run. It largely depends on what we are seeing and reading in our life and in the background it erects our Belief System. Our belief is the simplest form of mental representation and therefore one of the building blocks of conscious thought.
Our common-sense and understanding of belief may be entirely wrong, but we do not have many options except to make predictions out of it. Most of these predictions are useful in our daily routine. The concept of belief presumes the believer and an object of belief.
We tend to internalize the beliefs of the people around us during childhood. The one who is the master of himself is always able to create the right kind of thoughts according to the circumstance. Never is there the dependency on situations or people for the right kind of responses. Since there is mastery over thoughts, there is also mastery over all words spoken and everything done. The more one hears and talks about positive things, the more one is able to be free from negative influences. The environment today doesn’t give much of a chance for hearing to positivity because of the continuous flow of news about conflict and violence. But changing the theme of conversation and talking about what life gives is to change the responses to the world in a more positive way.
The one who is the master is the one who creates positive thoughts under all circumstances. I am in touch with the inner resources and I am able to make use of these resources in a timely way. I never get confused or pressurized with outside situations, but am able to be in control in all situations.
When I am able to maintain my own self-respect even in the worst situation, I am able to have a hold, control over these situations. But if I have a low self-respect I continue to blame situations and use them as excuses to feel helpless. So I am not able to do anything about these situations and just continue to have negative feelings.
When I have a positive outlook, it creates in me hope and enthusiasm for the future. I also have a more positive view of the present reality. I remain in peace, whatever the challenges or negative situations I may have to face. I am able to be in touch with the inner peace and maintain this state of mind under all circumstances. So, like other propositional attitudes, belief implies the existence of mental states and which is hotly debated topics.
You experience creativity peace, calm, serenity and happiness due to your beliefs. Also you generate the ability of self-control and strength to overcome pressures and worries more easily. Your belief system strengthens your ability to concentrate on quality thoughts that in turn produce good feelings.
There is a great deal of difference between an eager man who wants to read a book and a tired man who wants a book to read. ~G.K. Chesterton
