The friendly neighbourhood dog Kalu the Great (Babloo) is not well, his hind limbs are not functioning properly. The poor animal kept on crying for three nights some people say that it was hit by a vehicle. We tried our best to rescue him by carrying him from here to there but he kept rolling from one place to another. It’s alarming that we lack a rehabilitation center out here in Shimla for stray dogs.

Noteworthy point was Kalu’s friend (female dog) remained with him through out the episode.  Hat’s off to Ms. Nandini [another neighbour] who helped the poor animal extraordinarily, she seems to be the Menka Gandhi of our locality.
