Goal setting is overlooked for the reason because nobody taught us and we never learned its weight.
People often feel subconsciously that if they don’t set goals they can’t fail. But they are failures nevertheless for having no goals.
Our subconscious mind is like a garden, if we leave it unattended, the weeds will grow wild. Goal setting is a great destroyer of those weeds. – Dr Joseph Murphy
Following are some reasons for not having goals in place.
Mediocrity
Bloggers avoid setting goals. “What if I don’t make it?” A lack of knowledge about goal setting doesn’t know the mechanics of setting goals. They need a step-by-step guide so that they can follow a system.
Fear of success
Avoiding goal setting indicates a pessimistic attitude-Looking for the pitfalls and not the possibilities. Low self-image or fear of having to live up to their success causes some people to fear success. Lack of ambition due to the lack of want and values to live a fulfilled life. The limited thinking always prevents from progress.
Smaller Frying pan
There was a fisherman who, every time he caught a big fish, would throw it back into the river, keeping only the smaller ones. A man watching this unusual behaviour asked the fisherman why he was doing this. The fisherman replied, “Because I have a small frying pan.” Now that’s limited thinking.
Procrastination
A fear of rejection-worrying that, “If I don’t make it, what will other people say?” Or thinking “someday, I will set my goals.” These ties in with a lack of ambition, low self-esteem because you are not internally driven and has no inspiration.
I am sure these points are enough to set goals as a blogger or in general. Always remember, the pain of discipline is always sweeter to the pain of disappointment.
