Can you believe it, INR do not have a currency symbol. Major currencies of the world e.g. US Dollar, Pound Sterling, Yen and the Euro have an Identification symbol. The Government of India also proposes to have a symbol for the Indian rupee to be selected through public competition.Ministry of Finance has given you an open opportunity to design one. The jury to select the winner of this competition is Members from Reserve Bank of India and art institutes such as Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art, National Institute of Design, Lalit Kala Akademi, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Art & Culture.

My suggestion would be to use coins, not bills. The US spends a fortune trying to keep ahead of the counterfeiters and the bills have to be shredded when they are too old. Coins last forever.
