Don’t Click It!

by | Mar 6, 2009 | Amusing, Critique

Recently I stumbled upon an interesting website called, Don’t Click It! It is a modern website designed by Institute for Interactive Research.

It offers the next level of interactivity with computer machines which is more natural and thought-activated menu of commands. The site wonders about what the future really holds for the ways in which we access and use the internet.

The webpage checks any hovering over icons and moving the mouse around without clicking, one quickly learns to control the action on monitor.

The goal of the website is to answer the questions like:

Is clicking really rooted so deep in us that we can’t resist it and how hard is it to break our clicking habits, Does it change our behaviour of navigation and dDo we miss the click at all?

Someone could have unintentionally clicked the “Delete” button which inspired them to take up the challenge of a non-clickable website. The website explores several click free techniques like a timer when you rollover or a mouse gesture, which is another great user interaction technique. My favourite section on the site remains the click history from 300 BC to Today.
