Being in this world…

The Zen of Happiness

by | Apr 26, 2013 | Productivity

Whatever passion or conviction you follow in your life – happiness is the purpose. In quest for happiness, we follow path where we are falling prey to our desires and destroying our good virtues.

As humans we have been blessed with the power of freedom to use our intellect and determination, we can’t blame anybody for our unhappiness because we have created it ourselves. No one can make us happy or sad without our consent, It is we who make our life what it is moreover.

Happiness

You Can’t Buy it

Happiness is one of the commodity which you can’t buy. The key of happiness lies in learning how to enjoy small things in your life and the surroundings rather than your possessions. Next time you feel slightly low at happiness, simply find an opportunity to go to the nearest local park where you can enjoy the environment without spending any money.

Being happy in life is far better than buying items – thinking that these will make you happy. Whatever you’ll buy with money will make you more. I’ll vote for having inner peace rather than having my house filled with “things.” It doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some of the finer things in life it just means learning how to be happy with yourself and not simply “things.”

Your biggest Opponent

You may ask, “Why, if we have free choice, things do not turn out as we wish them to be”. You wonder to see that sometimes you aren’t able to take time to do the things that are good for your own welfare. You don’t remain honest to your own passions and to your own life, this really need to be addressed…

It is because you have weakened your cellular consciousness  your own will, your consciousness of divine powers within you and you start getting resistance from yourself. But if you strengthen your will by practicing self-control and meditation, it becomes free; and as soon as your will is free, you are master of your fate. But if you find that day by day you are living a life against your conscience, you will never be free.

You don’t require permission

Who stops you?  No one – but your inner self, which can also be recognized as your cellular consciousness. There may be times when you are not able to execute whatever you desire but your cellular consciousness keeps you reminding your hidden objectives which are your deep rooted beliefs or Sanskars.

You have the power of sensitivity to benefit yourself. That is why you must train your will to be more elastic. Unfortunately some times you land up making yourself a prisoner of your moods and bad habits.

It is Decider

Many studies have shown that your happy state gets extra advantage in everything you do. This influences you attitude. Your negative attitude may pull you down where as your good attitude which is rather a happy, healthy mind will certainly help you meet objectives of your life. An optimistic brain and, cheerful approach will certainly help you.

How it works

Our desires and worries are both taken care by our psychological immune system, and we have within us the capacity to manufacture the very commodity we are constantly chasing when we choose our experience in the life. This system works best when we are totally stuck, or when we are trapped i.e. when we are left simply without any choice.

You are in your environment in every waking hour so you need to be proactive and create an eco-system that supports your happiness and habits. Keep your will under control by doing the best things in life, thinking more of in the larger scale, practicing self-control, and meditation. The joy of giving is one of the purest form of reflection of happiness.

Happiness is not something readymade. It comes from your own actions. – Dalai Lama

It can be synthesized

Harvard psychologist, Dan Gilbert, author of Stumbling on Happiness challenges the idea that we’ll be miserable if we don’t get what we want. As per the surprising science of happiness we feel truly happy even when things don’t go as planned. He says our beliefs about what will make us happy are often wrong.
