Life of Compassion

by | Dec 6, 2013 | Critique

Compassion is the primary colour of humanity. It is the feeling of empathy for others. An emotion which we feel in response to the suffering of others that motivates to refuse injustice and originates a desire to help.

“People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” ― Nelson Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom

Nelson Mandela, South Africa’s beloved former leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner, died in Decfember, 2013 at age 95. As we remember this beautiful soul, this cherished warrior for peace and justice, equality, justice, fairness and peace for all. Let’s all vow to embody the principles for which he stood.

Yes, Mandela’s life of compassion inspires me!

Great leaders like Mandela become super-hero by demonstrating the extra ordinary emotional strength and empathy. He inspired all those who suffer from adversity. Coming out of 27 years of imprisonment stronger and more determined than ever to right the wrongs he witnessed in his life.

Empathy is the natural expression of joy in being alive and interacting with others. It is only possible when one relates to others and express respectfully what he is and allow others to share. We relate to people and nature and experience the fulfillment of human life through our relationships.

Just loved this sensational adorable animated video using Empathy researcher Brene Brown’s words to illustrate the difference between Sympathy and Empathy.

Why is empathy so much more powerful than sympathy?
