We do not esteem the value of silence in our lives. Silence is a precious lesson that is learned from the many sufferings of life.

Recall the last time you said a foolish thing, something that came to bite you. Why did you say it? Chances are you didn’t need to, but you thought doing so would make you look smarter. The more you say, the more likely you’re to say something foolish and cause yourself suffering.

The biggest reason for this is the absence of silence in our lives. Our lives nowadays tend to be so busy that we have become accustomed to a constant barrier of random tasks, unnecessary inputs, and the general man-made noise of our surroundings.

How often do you spend time all alone?

I’m afraid to say never as you can’t afford to do that as your mobiles never leave you alone.

Apart from it, we are already living in a noisy world. Unwanted sounds and noises pursue us everywhere we go. The street, restaurants, supermarkets, and even in places where silence is considered a necessity like schools and hospitals are not exceptions. From the early morning, we step out home till we come back, and we encounter a variety of terrible noises.

There are times when we come home only to turn on the songs or television news just so we can have something going on in the backdrop!

The other forms of home entertainment make the scenario worst. In fact, the only sound largely absent from people’s houses nowadays are the voices of their occupants talking to one another.

The inexperienced and fearful talk to reassure themselves. Your ability to listen carefully, and to deliberately keep out of a conversation, and to maintain without its validity is rarely observed. Silence is a powerful way to build self-sufficiency. When you experience silence you’ll realize that It is highly creative, it promotes your inner self, makes you stronger and builds trust, it allows you ti listen to others, and most importantly it gives you rest.
