Institutes are the places from where we receive the future citizens and key players to run the nation. Increasing incidents of criminal ragging in academic institutions turn students’ lives to nightmare. It not only depicts the sick insight of the dreadful raggers but also the inefficient loose administration.

Hazing or ragging can’t be executed without the involvement of Administration as Lack of any strong punishment action encourages them to do it to a greater extent. One strong step by the administration against raggers can make their raised tail down.

While recapitulating such acts in my own institute was not more than witty safe pranks. I was not aware of this fact that in India every year more than ten youngsters are killed due to ragging in India. Many get disabled or seriously injured and countless of innocent teenagers suffer extreme forms of physical and sexual abuses for months.

The sensitivity of issue is quite easy to comprehend as a fresh entrant into the institute it takes great courage to complain against ones seniors. Finally, unable to face the humiliation, the students choose to keep numb and bear all the shit. This pumps in the stress to juniors and to my wonder I can see the fundamental law of Cause & Effect into action here as it becomes a cycle that every student who is ragged largely becomes bigger ragger.

The urge to execute these wicked and shameful crimes on the juniors in the name of ragging can be seen as a wild sick mind of these so called professionals who are going to play a vital role in our society.

The hard fact is that ragging exists because society including parents, teachers, students and institute administration permit it to exist.

Who will come forward to break this deadlock?

Obviously, We the People

When and Why?

The only Answer to this is, “When there will be a leash round the neck”.

Nobody should be spared, not only the indulged culprits should be given the lesson of their life and all the authorities involved in this hibernation should be dismissed without any political intervention.

If you want to protect your child, raise your voice and join hands to SAY NO TO FUTURE SICK CITIZENS OF THE COUNTRY. With the situation of ragging aggravating every year, there is an urgent need for spontaneous movement and awareness to stop such inhuman activities. If such exemplary punishment is not given, this menace will continue to exist prominently or unrevealed.
