I too planned a technical writers meet few years back, twice, but to an extremely lukewarm response. My event was even sponsored by STC, and I found the local community too laidback to involve.
For the upcoming event, I am not too sure because it is about 20 miles from my place and Sunday evening. Will try though. Good luck!
