Last year I procured my DSLR but kept using it throughout the year (unprofessionally) without a tripod. I went for Velbon CX-640, it is a larger tripod and ideal for a heavier SLR and medium format cameras. This is good value aluminium tripods for beginners, It is medium size model for both still photo and video camcorders. Features a 3-way panhead with quick release platform, geared elevator, bubble level, radial braces, 3-section legs and rubber feet.

The Velbon tripod which I have chosen is CX 640 to suit my outfit, they feature 3-way pan heads with quick release, braced leg supports for extra stability, crank handle on the centre column for fine height adjustment, a spirit level and even a case. Thanks to Homeshop18 and Bluedart as well, though I have to pick my shipment from Blue Dart office. My previous experiences with Blue Dart says that though shipment arrives in the stipulated time but local delivery channel delays the delivery.
